High Pressure Laminates Machining
High-pressure Rigid Laminates generally consist of fibrous reinforcing materials and resin binders. Common reinforcing materials include Cellulose paper and Cotton, Asbestos, Nylon, and Glass Fabrics. Popular resins include the Micarta Sheet, Micarta Rod, Epoxies, Silicones, Phenolics (such as the Phenolic Resin Cotton Sheet), Melamines, and Polyesters.
At GRT Genesis, we carry over 100 different grades of High-pressure Rigid Laminates. This includes GXPC, our own High-quality, low cost punching grade and Arboron, a high quality, low cost Paper Phenolic Resin Cotton Sheet. All of these meet or exceed Industry and Military standards. Our High-Pressure Rigid Laminates come in a variety of thicknesses and sizes.
ROD (Including Micarta Rod):
- Stocked in both Molded and Machined sizes
- CE is available off the floor up to 6 inches in diameter,along with large amounts of G10 and XX
- Micarta Rod used for Electrical applications
- Phenolic Rods such as the Micarta Rod aid with issues such as moisture and humidity
TUBE:
- Stocked in various grades and sizes
- Shipped in both large and small quantities
SHEET (including Micarta Sheet):
- Includes Micarta Sheet and Arboron Phenolic Resin Cotton Sheet
- Micarta Sheet used for High Pressure Laminated Plastic

Paper Grades
Generalized as most commonly used in Electrical applications where minimal or non-critical Mechanical value is required Switch Plates, Washers, Spacers, Terminal Boards, Barriers, supports.
- X, XX, XXX, XPC, XPFR (The number of X’s indicates the proportion of resin and therefore Electrical value
- XPC = Economical Punching Grade
- XPFR = Punchable FR-Rated
Glass Grades
Used in applications where notably high Thermo-Electrical and Mechanical properties are critical
- Grades G-3, G-5, G-7, G-9, G-10, G-11, FR4, Glass Polyimide
- Circuit Boards, Welding Nozzles, Arc Chutes, Resistor Boards, Steel Mill Electrode and Bus-Tube Insulation, Receptacle and Connector Plates, Terminal Block, HV Boards, Pole Collars, Slot Wedges, Top Sticks
